At Norte Vista's most recent Saturday Academy on September 11, our Automotive and Construction Pathways both represented and had great participation rates!

Automotive teacher, Mr. Danks, had 15 students participate. They worked on replacing a transmission mount for a former graduate, and also did some competitive team building activities. Student were asked to display certain tools from their respective tool chests and for the team that did it the fastest, they were given points. For those teams that displayed the wrong tools, they had points deducted from their score. The participants also had grilled chicken and hot dogs, and all left full and content with their accomplishments for the morning!

Construction teacher, Mr. Ferguson, lead a hands-on workshop for participants to build their own rustic, wooden flag, in honor of 9/11. The workshop was a huge success, with not only Norte Vista students, but family members, staff, and even staff from other AUSD schools wanting to attend. What an amazing event and learning experience!
